What could my emotional body experience?

A vibrant awakening of the senses

A meditative state & access to deep serenity

An opportunity to surrender/let go

A release of trapped emotions

An experience of safety, support and loving presence.

An interruption of repetitive patterns within the physical, emotional & mental aspects of self.

What does the session look like?

We meet on land, poolside, for 5-15 minutes for a short intake so I can get a sense of your relationship to    water and what you're hoping to receive from the experience. We will then get into the shallow heated therapy pool,  put your floats on, take a few breaths together and drop into the session.

During the session you will be floating, mostly on your back, supported by the floats and my arms most of the time. We will move through a sequence of moves* that are usually selected spontaneously based off of your bodies cues, freedom of movement and  responsiveness to the water. I will be consistently observing & taking feedback on how you are receiving the session and using the automatic, subconscious & direct cues of your body to steer the session in a direction that is personal and unique to you in the moment. Some sessions, if it's desired, can include full submersions, where the entire body including the face goes under water. We only perform  submersions in a way that is safe and comfortable and under your direction. We would discuss this option during our intake at the beginning.
(Submersions are completely optional)

Each water session lasts for 1 to 1.25 hrs. At the end of our water session, I will deliver you to side wall of the pool and offer some gentle grounding techniques and give you time to awaken from the water experience and give space to support the integration process. For some that means simply being in silence. For some that means  sharing and processing their experience verbally with me. And then the session is done. I will always be available for text or phone chats afterwards for any additional communication and processing that is desired.

*All 'moves' were created by Alexander George, the creator of the aquatic bodywork form, Healing Dance. Some of the Healing Dance moves were  adapted from Watsu and Water Dance.
